Release Date of The New Nintendo Wii

Finally, Nintendo launches the newest addition to the current game consoles, named "Nintendo wii" – a rendition of the previous console codenamed "Revolution".  On the release date of the new Nintendo wii on November 14, 2006, designers of Nintendo projects this game system to attract the curiosity of even the non-gaming populace.  They intentionally replaced Revolution with "wii" since it resembles togetherness – the two "i's" represent two people playing together.

Nintendo first publicly mentioned this new console in the E3 press conference in 2004 then revealed the system in an E3 in 2005.  In an E3 in 2006, the new game system gathered several awards.  On December 8, 2006 the release date of the new Nintendo wii was accomplished in three major markets namely North and South America, Europe and Japan, although the Wii sports included in the bundle was not released in the latter's market.

This new game console boasts of a 512 MB Internal Flash memory, a graphics processing unit (GPU) powered by ATI "Hollywood" while the central processing unit (CPU) is an IBM PowerPC-based "Broadway".  Nintendo Wii system uses a self-loading Optical Media Drive that accepts 12cm Wii Optical Disc, 8cm Nintendo GameCube, and Game Discs.  This new console uses Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB 2.0x2, and LAN Adapter (via USB) connections.

The biggest online store Amazon.com already has several units available for sale of Nintendo Wii sold at a retail price of $739.88.  Wii Sports comes free with the whole bundle and includes sports of tennis, baseball, boxing, golf, and bowling – all utilizes the Wii remote for motions and actions of games characters.  Other games  simultaneous with the release date of the new Nintendo Wii system are Call of Duty 3, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Madden NFL 07, and more.
