Nintendo Wii Features

The release of Microsoft’s Xbox and Sony’s Playstation 2 a year ago has somehow pushed Nintendo out of the limelight for quite sometime in the video gaming industry. However, not known to take the back for long, Nintendo retaliated by announcing that they were in the developing stages of their new product that is expected to topple off Sony’s PS2 reign among the avid video gamers. The product was originally reported to be named Revolution, in consistency to the claim of Nintendo that it will revolutionize everyone’s gaming experience. It was later changed into Nintendo Wii, the product specifically created to mark it presence in the market and to closely rival the new products of Microsoft and Sony, which is the Xbox 360 and the PS3 respectively.

Like any other video game enthusiast, you would naturally want to know the Nintendo Wii features that would set it apart from its competitors. Prior to its release last November 19, 2006, there have been a number of rumors circulating around and predictions have been made as to the performance of each product. However, the timely release of Nintendo Wii and Sony’s PS3 strategically slated right before the holiday season have prompted a lot of people to join the buying frenzy.

Many were definitely impressed with the sleek design and the remarkable Nintendo Wii features, which was initially in black rectangular box with a slot receiver that has Led illuminator that gives it a more futuristic effect. The exterior shouted a minimalist design in comparison the rather flashy look of the Xbox 360.

Now, it’s time to get down to the actual Nintendo Wii features so you would have an idea what you’re actually spending on. ATI manufactured the graphics card it has a 512 MB memory. Although some people were slightly disappointed with this since it doesn’t quite compare with the hardware of Xbox and PS3, Nintendo Wii features made it up by providing wireless controllers, two USB ports and can be used for internet access since it has a built in Wifi antenna. But what is most remarkable to many people in all of Nintendo Wii’s features it is backward compatibility, meaning a person will be able to play it will virtually any of the Nintendo game produced in the recent years. Along with the significantly cheaper price, this feature is certainly a major factor that makes people choose Nintendo Wii over Sony’s PS3. Based on the initial success of the product and still the ongoing high demand rate, Nintendo can breathe easy and say that they are still indeed in the running when it comes to producing the very best video game consoles.
